Sarah Stiehl
Born into a creative family that influenced her to pursue the arts, Sarah Stiehl was further encouraged by the numerous awards and art scholarships she has received.
As a young adult she spent time studying the old masters in Santa Fe, New Mexico; Florence, Italy; and Paris, France. Arriving in New Orleans in 1973, she was immediately enamored by the sense of charm and style in the European- like City. A lover of music and good food plus the admiration of the city’s architecture made New Orleans a place for Sarah to call home.
Her impressionistic technique ensues a love of light with use of rich, saturated color that concentrate on the feeling of the scene rather than the accurate reproduction of reality.
Light, shadow, color and texture with perspective are the fundamental elements used to create visions of warmth and wonder, life and light.
